Pune District Co-Op Housing federation was established on 23-08-1974 under register no 1049. Late Mr.Shreekrishna Vaidya, the then Dy. Mayor of Pune Municipal Corporation, late Taherbhai Haidari ,Dr.Bhaskar Date and others were instrumental in promoting federation. Mr.Suresh Shidid helped them a lot in this activity. Mainly tenant ownership(Bunglow Type) Housing societies were being registered in those years. Forming a housing society and running as per society bye laws (It was called “U format” then) was not known to society office bearers. Society members used to raise many queries and these needed to be attended.
Federation took this as a task and consultation with coop department officers and tried to satisfy the queries of housing societies .Soon, people used to consult the federation to solve their problems.
The meagre 50 societies initially grew up to 500 and more. Initially federation functioned through the office of vaidya classes. Soon a small office at 208 Somwar Peth, Samarth bridge(Daruwala Pool) was hired. Directors from rural areas also were adopted and the field of federation slowly widened , to meet the requirements of socities. Like,
Arranging the “Sahakar Darbar” a free consultation activity for societies.
Extending this activity to various places in Pune city and around to suit the convenience of member societies.
Arranging “Housing Seminars” in consultation with coop officers of coop department. The question and answer activity feature in these seminars has become very popular. A lot of problems are being resolved through these seminars.
Promoting the Deemed Conveyance activity and helping the coop housing societies to present their documents to DDR in this respect.
Our vision is to establish federation work into taluka level. To increase no. of guidances centers in various areas. To guiding housing societies for reducing paper work and promote for computerised documentation. To Guide Societies for smothly management to produce societies opinion infront of government for reducing societies problems.
